Baked Bananas

Baked Bananas.png

Ingredients

1 Banana
1 tsp Date Paste (see our homemade date paste recipe)
1 tsp Lemon or Lime Juice
1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

Recipe

1) Set oven to 180C/350F (or you can use an air fryer). Cut the banana in half length-ways.

2) Place banana halves skin side down and brush the flesh of each banana with lemon or lime juice and a little of the date paste.

3) Sprinkle each half with cinnamon.

4) Place in the oven or in the air fryer on greaseproof paper for approximately 10-15 mins - appliances vary (feel free to leave for longer if you like it really soft).

You could also cook this under the grill, but you would not get a soft texture all the way through and be careful not to burn your bananas!

Enjoy your baked bananas with a sprinkle of chia seeds or desiccated coconut on the top.

Top Tips

If there are any ingredients that you do not like in any of the recipes, then feel free to swap them out for another food choice within the same food category (grains, beans & other legumes, fruit, veg, nuts & seeds).

You can also use frozen fruit or veg when you don’t have the fresh option.

Don’t forget to keep the skins on your veg where possible for essential added fibre and nutrition.
