Ingredients

240ml Milk (any kind is fine, including soya, oat, almond etc)
1 tsp Cacao or Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Natural Sweetener (see our natural sweetener recipes Apple Sauce, Date Paste etc)

Recipe

1) Place all ingredients into a container with a lid. Shake until fully combined and frothy.

2) Pour into your favourite mug and heat in the microwave until hot or to your ideal temperature. Alternatively you can heat in a pan on the hob. Whisk once it has reached your ideal temperature to get it nice and frothy.

3) Enjoy your healthy hot drink.

Top Tips

If you have a cafetiere, place all ingredients in and use plunger to froth up your hot chocolate. By pushing the plunger up and down quickly through the liquid, you will create the most frothy hot chocolate!

If there are any ingredients that you do not like in any of the recipes, then feel free to swap them out for another food choice within the same food category (grains, beans & other legumes, fruit, veg, nuts & seeds).

You can also use frozen fruit or veg when you don’t have the fresh option.

Don’t forget to keep the skins on your veg where possible for essential added fibre and nutrition.
